Blogging Tips Series : Choose Your Niche Based On Trends And Region NOT Passion[2016 Update]

Hey dear reader and top of the weekend to you all. I guess you are having a splendid holiday. Last time we discussed how to compare between general blogging and niche blogging and settling for one. In case you missed that epic article, click HERE to read.
Now to this article. I am not about to tell you the good old story that you should blog about your PASSION. 

Trust me, this is so old fashioned and if you want to be successful in blogging in 2016, this wont work. We are passed that stage in all ramifications. True, the majority of successful bloggers will tell you that blogging about their passion got them the success they craved. But in 2016, you can be successful even without blogging about your passion. Are you ready to know how?

First ask yourself, Why exactly do I want to go into blogging? This answer is the key to your success!!!

Yes, you read that right. Now what was your answer to that question? 

1. I want to be a popular blogger.

2. I want to impart my knowledge to people and provide help.

3. I want to make money from blogging.

4. I want to share my passion with the world.

Whatever your answer is, it surely falls into one of the 4 answers above.
Now if you picked number 1 or 3, you should choose your blogging niche based on what is trending and what is popular and liked by people in YOUR TARGET REGION, NOT blogging about your passion per se.

Imagine this , I am a new blogger. My target audience is Nigeria and region is Nigeria. But my passion is Volleyball and Female football. I can write captivating articles about them even in my sleep. This is my passion! But will it sell to my target audience?No. Because it dos not appeal to them. Now in my target audience region, free browsing tricks, cheap mobile phones and gossip sells as fast as water leaves a basket. Since my major aim is to make money from blogging and be popular, I will do what will sell to my audience. Money becomes your drive and will keep you going. Now dont see me as unethical, this is just the plain truth that successful bloggers wont analyze to you.

When should you actually blog about your passion? You should do this if the answer you picked is number 2 and 4. This is key to success in this regard. You cant give what you dont have. If you feel you can be an authority in a given field, blog about it. In this instance, because you are passionate about it, it will thrive and be a success. Imagine this, I am a new blogger. My target audience is United states of America. I am a lover for fashion. Now fashion may not really sell in USA, but because its my passion, I wont easily give up. I can give good recommendations on fashion trends, I can tell you whats classy and trashy, I can tell you the best an affordable dresses, I am an authority in fashion and after a while I will become your first thought when you have fashion issues.  Fashion being my passion will keep me going.

Now to you new blogger, what really do you want from blogging?  Make no mistake, whichever option you choose, you will work hard for months and possibly years to be known and to earn from your blog.  Our next article will begin the blogger design proper.
