NYSC to Resume Three Batches from 2016

The National Youth Service Corps has announced plans to revert to having three batches of corps members in a year from the two batches in two streams that was introduced this year.

Over the months, prospective corps members have been clamouring for a return to the 3-batch-a-year arrangement which may say causes many to sit at home for up to six months while waiting for their call up into the service. The new arrangement also disrupted the plan of many for further studies or travel.

NYSC has however given a reason to back the decision made earlier this year. The Management has attributed the 2-batch-a-year change to lack of enough funds to run three batches.

Prospective corpers can now heave a sigh of relief as camp might open as early as February next year. Batch A 2015 was shifted from early March to May 2015, while Batch B was shifted from July to October 2015.
